New CBD Cookies Available
Since 2016 Warm Belly Bakery has been satisfying sweet tooths all over Chicagoland its creative and whimsical flavors like Red Velvet-stuffed Nutella, Maple Bacon Bourbon and Fruity Pebbles. As the sweet shop already offers over 70+ different flavors of cookies, you may have wondered “what will they come up with next?”
Warm Belly Bakery is excited to announce they will soon be adding a CBD-infused Chocolate Chip Cookie to their menu! Co-owner/baker Joe Dela Peña saw how popular CBD-infused food products were becoming in other markets like New York and recognized an opportunity to bring these chilled out treats to Windy City customers.
Warm Belly Bakery’s CBD-infused Chocolate Chip Cookie will have the same charmingly homemade look and perfectly moist, soft consistency that guests have come to know and love - only these special sweets will have the added bonus of CBD oil. For Dela Peña, getting this new recipe exactly right was of paramount importance. Once he perfected the recipe he worked with Iron Laboratories to have test the cookies for purity and potency. The result is a mouthwatering, ooey-gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie that contains exactly 30 mg of CBD.
CBD (Cannabidiol,) the non-psychoactive compound found in the marijuana plant, has been linked to a myriad of mental and physical health benefits. Without THC (the component of marijuana that gets you high,) CBD is completely legal in all 50 states. It has been shown to relieve anxiety, aid in treating insomnia and is believed to promote joint health thanks to its anti-inflammatory effects.
“As CBD goes from underground to mainstream we hope to raise the standards of quality in infused cookies,” says Dela Peña.
Warm Belly Bakery’s CBD-infused Chocolate Chip Cookies will be priced at $5 each. The cookies will be available at both the West Loop (1148 W. Monroe St.) and Lincoln Park (2472 N. Clark St.) locations beginning Wednesday, January 16th. You must be 18 years old to purchase this product.
